deep tissue massage
A type of massage therapy, deep tissue massage involves applying firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia.
It's used for chronic aches and pain, as well as contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.
Deep tissue massage is more than just a massage with deep pressure. The goals and techniques are different from a Swedish massage. Remember that massage should never have to hurt to be effective.

A deep tissue massage shouldn’t hurt, but it’s very important to stay hydrated before and after the massage. You should communicate with our therapists to ensure you are comfortable during the process.
-
How often you should receive this type of massage will depend on the certain conditions being treated.
If you are suffering from a severe injury, you may want to get a Deep Tissue Massage up to three times a week. If it is used to help with muscle tension or stress relief, you may only need a session once a month.
-
Relaxation Massage is designed for relaxation and stress relief. It can help improve blood circulation and immune system functions. Deep Tissue Massage uses more pressure in order to get into the deepest layers of the tendons and muscle tissues.
Both help with stress and anxiety, but a Relaxation Massage will be better for anxiety and stress relief, while Deep Tissue Massages are beneficial for sore muscle treatment.
-
Occasionally, a Deep Tissue Massage may not be the best for every situation. If you are pregnant, have high blood pressure, or are ill, then it’s important to consult your massage therapist to see if a Deep Tissue is right for you.
